Youth News – October 2020
Lisa Ortiz, Youth Director
It’s OCTOBER, and that means it’s Halloween season! This is always a fun time of year for the SBCSL Youth Program. Our celebrations will look a little different this year (and we sure are going to miss our annual party), but we are still celebrating! We’ll be doing special Halloween-themed crafts each Sunday this month, and we invite and encourage everyone to come to youth Zoom church in costume on Sunday, October 25…
September in Review…
September was our first full month back in
school, remotely for many of our youth. To
honor that, we dedicated the month to
mindfulness. We practiced the Shark Fin
Technique (learn more about it and try it
yourself here), and focused on the the five
S’s to help center ourselves:
- Straight (sit up straight)
- Still (sit still)
- Silent (sit silently)
- Soft (breathe softly)
- Shut (eyes shut)
