What It Means To Live The Science of Mind
Rev. Nicole Atzinggen
I am so excited… this month we are going to be exploring and experiencing what it means to LIVE the Science of Mind! How many of you remember what our intention was at the beginning of this year?
We set an intention to put our Spirituality into Action. Books are nice and insightful, podcasts and blogs are interesting. Lectures, seminars and sermons are inspiring and motivational. But, what GOOD does any of it do us if we aren’t walking our talk; being the change we want to see; putting our money where our mouth is? I heard a saying today at my monthly Leadership Training class with John Partington, it was by Edgar Guest who wrote:
“I’d rather see a sermon than hear one any day;
I’d rather one walk with me than merely tell me the way. The eye’s a better pupil and more willing than the ear,
Fine counsel is confusing, but examples always clear;
And the best of all the preachers are the ones who live their creeds,
For to see good put in action is what everybody needs.”
– Edgar Guest –
I remember the time in my life I began to understand the sentiment above and the need to be the example, put my spirituality into action, it was when I realized that my children were soaking up my actions, reactions and mannerisms. It was startling to realize how much of an impact I had and especially since I didn’t know what the RIGHT way to be was. So, I decided I would just begin to live my life the way I wished my children would when they grew up. I imagined the love and peace and tolerance I would want them to hold in their heart and I began to develop it myself. The Truth is, the future is going to look like and act like and sound like the example it was given.
This month let’s recommit to putting our spirituality in action by Living the Science of Mind together.
