The Quality of Being Luminous
Rachel Rosen, Practitioner
“We each possess a Third Eye, our sixth chakra, which, if meditated upon using certain techniques, can open to reveal a light brighter than the sun.”
Recently, I’ve been looking at the idea of “Luminosity”. The primary dictionary definition is “the intrinsic brightness of a celestial object.” But what about the human essential quality of inner light? It offers the connotation of “being lit from within,” as in current lingo used by the younger generation, i.e., “she’s lit”, or “that’s lit”. That brings in the quality of being animated – given life – by something fundamental to our being-ness. There is a moving force or power that is so basic that Life Itself cannot come into expression without it.
The quality of being luminous – being lit from within – means the ability to give out that light to illumine what is not yet seen and therefore, known. And what is lit from within lights up the whole of that entity. Light in that context becomes the outward expression of the Life Force Energy that powers all of existence. Furthermore, it has the ability to attract others to itself. It has the same drawing power as the proverbial “light to a moth” idea. Illumined Masters are often depicted as being radiant and attracting. How-or if- we respond to Light determines the trajectory and the quality of our lives. What we do to find it, strengthen it, and follow it can change our experience and, indeed, the entire course of our lives.
In this context the familiar biblical phrase, “Let There Be Light,” (from Genesis 1:3) can take on a deeper meaning. We assume the speaker is God, and to whom is He/She/It speaking if there are not yet any beings with ears to hear? Who needs to hear these words? After all, the speaker is All-Powerful, the Creator of everything that comes into existence afterward. It has been suggested that the very pronouncement of it brings it forth into existence. So announcing my intention has its own power and partners with the powerful quality of Light to create something new.
We each possess a Third Eye, our sixth chakra, which, if meditated upon using certain techniques, can open to reveal a light brighter than the sun. It possess qualities that, if we meditate upon it daily, gradually open all of our senses and obliterate anything unlike its own purity. It is our own personal way-shower of the true and pure in our own selves and, by extension, in all others.
I believe that this is a very personal challenge for each of us. There is something to be revealed that holds the possibility of a powerful and illuminating understanding that may give rise to a new path to walk along in our lives.
Peace Be With you,
