The energy of imagination!

Rev. John DePalma

““When you are free, you can play, and when you are playing, you become free.”
– Heidi Kaduson

This month’s theme is creativity. The energy of imagination! We’ve been given this one life. We’ve been given this incredible gift of creativity.

How do we spend it, this one life? How do we use it, this gift of creativity?

We always have a choice. We can consciously choose how we spend the 168 hours/week we’ve been given. We can consciously decide how much to imagine. Or… we can fritter away our time in mindless activity and unconsciously use this creative process, argue for our limitations and be satisfied with mediocrity.

The Universe is always creating – it can’t help itself! And neither can we. As individualized expression of the One, we know there is a power for good in the universe AND WE CAN USE IT-CONSCIOUSLY!

When we change our thinking, change our feelings, change our emotions and change OUR BEHAVIOR, we create a world that unfolds with grace and ease beyond anything we can imagine.

But do we set our expectations high enough?

Do we really understand the power pulsing within us with every beat of our hearts and breath we take is the same power that spun the universe out of itself as it breathed “Let there be light!” In every one of us!

Affirm with me:

“My mind is a center of Divine operation. The Divine operation is always for expansion and fuller expression, and this means the production of something beyond what has gone before, something entirely new, not included in past experience, though proceeding out of it by an orderly sequence of growth.

Therefore, since the Divine cannot change its inherent nature, it must operate in the same manner in me; consequently in my own special world, of which I am the center, it will move forward to produce new conditions , always in advance of any that have gone before.” – Genevieve Behrend

Let’s understand this month that we have individual choice to consciously follow our creative impulse to the limits of our imagination. That as a natural consequence of that choice growth occurs pushing us out of our comfort zone. And that transformation can lead us to resurrect our spirit, our faith in the power of the creative process in us, in our energy and enthusiasm for this gift of life.

We can bring ourselves to a life that leverages who we have come here to be, no matter any situations, conditions or challenges. Charles Fillmore at the age of 92 famously proclaimed,

“I fairly sizzle with zeal and enthusiasm and leap forth with a mighty faith to do those things only I can do!”

That’s what this community is here to do!

Sizzle with creativity! Sizzle with compassion! Sizzle with extraordinary respect! And create a world that works for all where no child goes hungry, where no one feels unloved, and where prosperity and peace prevail!
