September Council Update
Marjorie Wray, RScP, Council Chair
Fellow Congregants,
Well, Ed and I are continuing to stay at home most of the time and continue to wear our masks when we go out. We can get through this as we all do our part. For me this means wearing a mask when out in public, social distancing and washing my hands!
I would like to give a big shout out to our FUNd Raising Committee – John Partington, Janice Guevara, and Pam Watanabe. They did a great job organizing and facilitating our amazing Covid-19 Giving Saturday drive through on July 11th. There were balloons and signs and treats for the participants. We had a large cow bell that we rang every time someone deposited on donation. Many of you parked and took a tour though our remodeled sanctuary. Of course, we all wore masks which sometimes made it difficult to recognize people especially if they were also wearing sunglasses!
Our Council is working diligently to deal with the loss of rental income as we move through this difficult time. I would like to give a BIG thank you to everyone who stepped up to make an extra donation to support our Center on either on a monthly basis or through COVID-19 Giving Saturday.
SBCSL Pastoral Care: Our Community Tithe for September is going to SBCSL Pastoral Care, our very own Jewel by the Sea. We recognize that many in our community are struggling financially. Thus, our Leadership Council decided to support the SBCSL Pastoral Care as it supports our members.
We have an amazing Center and it is my privilege to be a part of it.
Much Love,
Marjorie Wray, RScP
Council Chair
