June Council Update
Marjorie Wray, RScP, Council Chair
Dear Fellow Congregants,
We continue to live the Mystery of Life as we move through COVID-19 precautions. This pandemic has invited me to be more mindful and live in the now. I use a daily walk in my neighborhood to center and ground myself, trusting and knowing that God is my source.
Our center is essentially operating virtually primarily through Zoom and the telephone. I have learned how to use Zoom and am enjoying the opportunity to connect with many of you. If you join the Sunday Zoom service at 10:00 you can click on the “chat” button at the bottom of your screen. It will open a chat bar where you can see what other congregants are saying and you can also write your comments. Many of us watch the Sunday service in our PJs, because it is a webinar so your picture in not shown anywhere. As always you can also watch it on face book live or anytime at your leisure.
We have had a “Men’s Group” for quite a while and now have a Women’s group called “Soul Sisters” that meets from 10-12:00 on the first Saturday and while we are unable to meet in person we will also meet on the third Saturday. This is really fun because part of the time we meet as a group and part of the time Rev Nicole breaks us out into groups of 2 or 3 so we get a chance to get have small group conversations to discuss the topic.
I want to personally thank all of you that have continued to support our Jewel By the Sea with auto tithes, checks, Text to Tithe and PayPal. Please know that you may give by visiting our website at https://www.sbcsl.org. There you will find directions on how to use “Text to Tithe” on your smartphone or you can click on the “Give Today” a button, located on the top right-hand corner of our website. The “Give Today” gives you our mailing address if you wish to mail check or you can use your credit card through “Pay Pal.
Much Love,
Marjorie Wray, RScP
