Courageous MMXX

“MMXX Blessings for each of you!”
– Annmarie Lovedahl, RScP –
MMXX is the “double down” Roman Numeral designation for the year 2020. Of course 2020 is likely to be a very auspicious year (as the Chinese would say.) After all, it’s the beginning of a new decade, a leap year, a US presidential election year and, for the many who subscribe to Angelic messages, it has those repeated digits looming large.
So what keeps repeating in my mind, is that this will be a year that will require an inordinate amount of Courage: Courage to step forward into the unique circumstances that are sure to present themselves; Courage to take on new and different challenges and ways of being in the world; and courage to open our hearts to a new and bold way of living.
We often think of courage as a quality demonstrated in external activities such as standing up to an adversity, or conquering various exterior challenges or difficulties that confront us. But being courageous is more than simply being strong, fearless or performing heroic actions.
There is an internal power that lies at the core of courageousness. In fact, the origin of the word courage comes from “cor,” (Latin) or “Coeur” (French) meaning “Heart.” The word itself beckons us to bring our attention within, to focus on the “interior.” It is a measure of our “Heartfelt” participation with life, with another, with our work, or our community. To be courageous is to make conscious those things we already feel deeply. And when we do this, we will confront our own vulnerabilities, but also recognize that the rewards can be immeasurable.
And so, for this unique year, let us go inward and dig deeply as we fully participate and create meaningful, profound connection with our world. Let us become heartfelt, courageous lovers, protectors and supporters of one another, our community and our planet.
I consider that the most Coeur-ageous new year’s resolution ever.
MMXX Blessings for each of you!
